Hi all,

I'll be going on my annual WGW sabbatical pretty soon, and I thought I'd organize another real-time wargear meet-up before I do so. 

So vote on this thread: Do you prefer Saturday, May 23rd (labor day weekend) or Saturday, June 6th. 

Here's the thread to the last meet-up we did last year. In that thread, it seemed like a good time to get everyone in was 12 noon EDT / 9am PDT / 6pm CET.

As far as boards, last time we did Gunslinger for the tourney, and played games on Mall of the Dead, Invention, Resource, Vertigo, and Subterfuge, and here are some other boards we voted on but did not play:

Millenium Falcon, Colossal Crusade, Five, Micro Mission, QBert, Quantum Entanglement

Any preferences for any of those we played already, ones we voted on but didn't play, or for other boards?

As for real-time communications on the day we choose, discord seemed to work well last time, so we can plan on that for this one as well.

Let me know if you're in for joining this meet-up, and any thoughts on date and boards!

Ooh...I think my DnDOpoly board would be ideal for a meetup. It's much more enjoyable as a lightning game type of setting, which this would be.

I'm up for any near weekend day/time with the exception of 5/29 daytime.

i'd save DnDopoly for RT games during the tourney. probs too much for the tourney. 

I'm in, both look OK for me, June 6th if you want me to indicate first preference. 

June 6th is probably my peference as well, but I can do May 23rd if the later date is not good for others.

Alright, let's go with Saturday, June 6th, 12 noon EDT / 9am PDT / 6pm CET. From past experience, I'd say to block off 3-4 hours that day if you want to be a part of this.

I'll send private messages to a few folks who's joined in the past so they can save the date and join if they like.

I agree with weathertop on saving DnDopoly for a real-time game this day, and not the tourney

As far as tourney board, let's go for for one we haven't played in a previous meet-up. The other suggestions from last year were:

Millenium Falcon, Colossal Crusade, Five, Micro Mission, QBert, Quantum Entanglement.

Please vote on your favorite option(s) in this thread (including another board not listed), and we'll see what has the most votes to prioritize for a TOURNEY on June 6th. We can still play other boards as real time GAMES, this'll just make it easy to get started that day with a tourney. My votes are Quantum Entanglement and Colossal Crusade. Final date to vote is Monday, June 25

Five sounds like a good board for a 1-on-1 tourney. Games won't last too long, no significant first mover advantage.

Quantum Entanglement would be my 2nd choice from the given list.

Ok, I'm in for June 6th.  I would prefer not to play DnDopoly though.  It is a fine board, but do not care for it myself.

I forget did we do Moon Base last time?  That is always fun.  An Invention tourney could be enjoyable too.

Cool, so far we have confirmed for June 6th: smess2, Litotes, ogg and myself. weathertp and Thingol also expressed interest, and we hope they'll join, as well as others who have participated in past real-time events.

DnDopoly: 1 vote

Five: 1 vote

Moon Base: 1 vote

Invention: 1 vote

Colossal Crusade: 1 vote

This real-time tourney seems to be getting less traction than it has in the past, maybe it's hard for people to commit to 3-4 hours of time in a single day? Or is there some other factor that I'm not seeing?

Regardless, we'll go ahead even if it's not that many players and will have some fun!

Our plan will be to prioritize Quantum Entanglement for the tourney, and we can play any boards people want to start for real-time games.

I'll post a couple of reminders next week, including a PM or two

I will try to join! I like moon base.  Still relatively new to all WG has to offer, so haven't played most of those boards, but always open to trying them. I'll be the real-time punching bag.
