Is there a stratego community like this? I've decided that game is equally engaging.

Not that I know of. If you find one, let me/us know. I used to play it quite a bit -

A quick search yeilds nothing in the way of a community. It's not optimal, but using stratego.io could be a workaround. It sets up a url that you share with your opponent. Then you can use a forum like this or reddit (I'll bet there's a stratego forum) to set up games without having to exchange email addresses. Also I'm pretty sure there are a number of stratego-like games on sites like boardgamearena and steam.
