It's on my 'Small feature requests that would take me about 5 minutes to implement but would then result in a bizarre unforeseen bug that would take me 2 hours to fix list' ;)

hehehehe. nope, now i'm seeing no rhyme or reason to where it jumps for me. one thread (previously completely unread) took me to the end. another (with multiple unread posts) takes me to the beginning. yet another (one completely read before i left work friday) takes me to the beginning but has posts marked as new!!
*ducks tom's flying fist*
It's been working for me.

Is anyone else getting similar problems to weathertop? I'd love to be able to put mark it down as an individual delusion ;)
Try this tom:
In a Thread that is showing as Read click Post Reply or Full Editor.
Go to the Reply page but don't submit anything.
Go back to the forums.
Thread appears as Unread.
I think...
At least for me that jacks some stuff up.

Yertle, don't do that
Account settings:
A box to check that keeps "Always remain logged in" works on multiple computers?
Logging in already defaults to log in this time only, which should be enough for public computers.
I have several computers depending on where I am that I may wish to quickly check if it's my turn and not have to log-in each time if I have switched computers.
Supporting multiple accounts logged it at one time is on the ToDo list but it's going to need a rewrite of the authentication system which will be quite time consuming and scary to do as it has the potential to break access to the site. Hence it's pretty low priority right now...although will get done at some point.
Ah. I have multiple forums and websites where I never log out and never need to log in until I need to clear my cookies for some reason. Had no idea the authentication system was so rigorous.
Thanks for all the hard work :)
Why do links to boards (and games sometimes I think) get broke when posting them in hyperlinks in the forums?

I think it's a bug in the WYSIWYG editor... or it could even be a feature.
Unfortunately it's a third party bit of software and horribly complicated so I've tried to avoid looking at it as much as possible :)

Sounds good, it's annoying when it happens, but not too horrible :)

Oatworm wrote: Any chance we can get a "Mark all as read" button? It's been a while since I've visited the forums and my obsessive-compulsive nature is leading me to read a bunch of threads I don't necessarily care about because they "aren't read yet".
Am I missing something or has this not been implemented yet?
I have the same obsessive-compulsive nature as Oatworm, and as much as I love blue over yellow/orange, those blue buttons are really starting to get on my nerves...
I feel the same way about the unread topics.. I also get annoyed by the 3 pinned 'suggestion' threads because they are hard to follow with all the suggestions mixed together.
Ideally, I think there are other better and free forum systems out there that I'd like to see implemented. But that's a monster probably for Tom to switch them out, and game related systems and updates are more important.
I'd like to offer my assistance with the site, but alast I'm in the 'Weekend Warrior' level of php programming, and have no flash experience.
No question there are better forum systems out there... but the difference is this is fully integrated into the site i.e. no separate authentication system and it's seamlessly integrated into the site.
Going with 3rd party forum software means a lot of work spent integrating the authentication systems and a site which feels like it's been tacked onto a forum.
I'll prioritize the mark all as read button for you guys :)

Yay!!
I don't know if this has been requested yet.
I exclusively use the "Recent Threads" view for the forums. I read pretty much everything so far.
With the new forum areas, it's starting to get a bit confusing as to what I'm going into. Any way to make visible the forum that the thread was posted in on that list view?
Sure, will do.
Any luck with the Read/Unread icons on the Main Forum page?
