Cool, just making sure it wasn't overlooked :)
So will you be able to set both Turn Based modifiers and SimPlay modifiers at the same time, or would you have to do one and then the other?
Take your time Tom, gives me a chance to get some work done so I'm ready for it!

Well, a board will either be Turn Based or Simultaneous (although they could just be different scenarios). So you can set one or the other but not both.

Can I try to make one that is neither?

Hmmmm, ya that's kind of a bummer I think.
Most boards don't play well both Turn Based and Sim, although to completely have to redo modifiers to test which style plays better wouldn't be fun. I assume nothing else would have to be redone would it?

Absolutely!
But seriously, it sounds like there would have to be two separate editor tabs, one for dice mods and one for percentages. If so, do you have to have the same borders for each game-type? In other words, can you have different borders for the BaO style game?
Eh.. Probably best to see what comes out. Does this thing have a name yet? Surely it's not BAO.
How is this so complicated? You make a map and select an option for play, Turnbased or SimulPlay and then you make the map and borders and all the other crap. If you want it to be both turnbased and SimulPlay you make 2 scenarios for the map and if you want to change the borders in one you change it in that scenario.
Your scenario must be either or and if you want both available you need a different scenario and then from there you can do whatever you would like to do.
It's not necessarily complicated if it is explained, which it hasn't been ..except by you.
Your explanation makes sense. Are you sure this is the way it's set up?
I have no idea what he's talking about.
(just kidding, that's exactly how it works)
well if that's the case.....
I'm in. :)
Man.. I'm so psyched about this happening. And the fatigue thing sounds great!
Well... it's all ready to go. I'll update the live site tomorrow morning around 3am EST to minimize disruption.
This will be a Beta feature for now until all the bugs are ironed out. There's bound to be a few as it's quite a large update to the game engine. I'll set up a thread for bug reports as usual.
Oh, count me in for testing new maps with it!
So by "Beta" will boards only in Dev status be available to be played in SimPlay (is that the name?)? Mainly how will we be able to play SimPlay?
I have a map that I made originally as Turn Based but thought it would work better as a SimPlay map so it is all set to test out tomorrow.
Right now I am working on a new version of 1st & Risky and hopefully will have it ready by tomorrow since it isn't a very difficult map to make
Now my Jedi Duel map is more complicated but I'll get rolling on that this weekend but I will also need team settings for that to be complete (hint hint).
Awesome work, in advance, tom. You are truly a bigger deal than even I am!

Yes, I think that is the best idea for now.
As regards the name... for me 'Simultaneous Play' makes sense because we already gave Simultaneous unit placement and Territory Selection. But I realise it is a bit of a mouthful!
Simulplay, Simplay, Simultaneous play are OK IMO. Resolution is not truly simultaneous, but play is. I think the shorter ones are better.
On the other hand, I think it should have the word Gear in it - like SimulGear, and differentiate itself from the standard game because it's not the same. There are no traditional dice, etc..
SimulGear gets my vote.
just wondering what "order overloading" and "unit pumping" are.
