Anyone interested in kinda double teaming on an oblivion type map? I would like to do it but I don't have the time to do it like i would want. There are lots of different possibilities for a design and gameplay and I think it could be a fun project.
Here's one map. It's not difficult for me to remove any kind of writing on the maps seamlessly, i've gotten pretty good with that so text doesn't matter.

Also be careful if you're google image searching for oblivion map!! Some sites contain spyware
what's oblivion?
It's a console game. Came out a long time ago and was thought to be ahead of it's time. It's really addicting and fun. One of those game where the world is huge and you can talk to everyone and there are hundreds of quests and you can do magic and stuff
The term you are looking for is MMORPG.
Ha thank you. ya that
Really? Nobody? No one here's played oblivion and think it'd be cool?
I also never played Oblivion and would love to work on maps, but currently life is preventing me from designing. I have several ideas in the pipeline, but there is a major blockage at the moment.

Asheron's Call > Oblivion
(Although I never played Oblivion...and don't play Asheron's Call anymore :P)

never played but i can definitely be a sounding board/collaborator if you need one.
Ahh yertle I hadn't heard of that but i just looked it up now your map makes a lot more sense! ha.
Beastlymaster > Asheron's Call
I'm not a board designer (fairly new to this site - came over from WF recently), but I've played Oblivion a lot and saw your post. I love Oblivion! It's not technically a MMORPG, since it's neither multi-player nor online - but a sweet game nonetheless.
Regardless, I think a board based on it would be really fun - like you said, lots of possibilities. I'd offer to help if I knew anything about designing boards. I'm a fairly experienced programmer at the day job so I could probably figure it out, but I'm more or less ignorant on game dynamics - like what makes a balanced game, etc... So I wouldn't want my ignorance in either area to hinder the effort.
But if you wanted a sounding board for Oblivion centric knowledge, I'd be happy to collaborate.
I'm new myself so that doesn't really matter a whole lot. And from what i've seen of WF gameplay is really not too different (someone please correct me if im wrong). It wouldn't take you long to figure out how to do it and ill show you what i've picked up so far.
