The per border fog could be available only under a "custom fog" setting.
I think it would work the same way it does now. The general fog type defines the level of fog for everything, and then view borders (of various types) reveal additional information.
I think even with more advanced view borders you still will need the sort of global view behavior that fog provides.
I imagine that the global fog would set the default vision level for all borders, and the default would then be overridden in cases where the designer has set a border-specific fog level.
Oh yeah, I guess just like view borders you could have fog borders that add fog to a map that is normally no fog. That would be cool...
So individual fog borders would trump the global default?

Yes. I think that makes the most sense with this system.
Is that the way it currently works? That a view only border trumps the fog setting?
yes.
i wish i could see what my boards look like, without having to start a game. i make lots of mistakes that do not show up untill you play a game on them.
or maybe i don't catch them without playing a game on them. either way it would be helpful. imo. :)

See what specifically, for the most part you can by clicking the Fill button on the Design>Territories view, then you can see a bit more by going to the Board page (ie http://www.wargear.net/boards/view/#### ).
I asked really nicely j-bomb and tom let me set up an alternate user account - to be used only for play testing. Now I can play with myself - and that's super helpful.

I think most Board Designers probably have an extra account for early quick Dev test games.
yeah i mean that is one way to do it but it just seems like the design page could show things a little better. not a big deal just wanted to contribute to the discussion. :)

Have anything specific?
tons of stuff has been discussed maybe not just designer discussions but ones that could be used here too, not the least of which is ability to see setup from different seats
