I've just noticed that a somewhat infamous newbie discussed in a couple threads a couple months ago (on premium trial, joined hundreds of games and got booted from most of them) is apparently at it again with a new account. She isn't using the two accounts for cheating, since the old account hasn't logged on since the new account was created, but it makes me wonder:
When an account is being created, does the site check whether the email address matches any existing accounts? ISTM that enforcing one-account-per-address would make sense. It wouldn't prevent cheating, of course, since throw-away email accounts are easy to come by, but still...
I don't recall that being a condition as there are some players here who have kids playing (with separate player IDs but with parents email addy)
Ah, good point. Thanks.

IIRC that were special cases and normally the site requires a single email per account, at east that's what I thought.
My memory coincides with Yertle's, unless things have changed recently.
I remember trying to create a 2nd account to use for testing and it wouldn't let me as the email address was already in use. This was in 2011.
Yes, there is a check - both the list of all email addresses used to register with and the list of all current email addresses for notifications are checked before allowing registration

I don't believe so and don't think there should be as there isn't anything necessarily wrong with multiple accounts being associated with the same IP...should actually be encouraged to a degree.
