I wish it's cards actually ramped up. By not increasing, it is very hard to ever make a "come-back" in this game.
It is a slow slow slog. The stronger players have no real reason to pick of the weaker as the cards they earn from finishing weaker players off isn't worth it.
Yertle, could you please give us the option of choosing ramping cards rather than static cards in the game options?

The "solar" scenario has a cycle of cards that ramp up to 30. Personally I prefer the default because cards are just a bonus and don't trump strategy late in the game, and there are still other good reasons to eliminate opponents. I find it interesting both ways.
