I'm sure there's a good, technical, reason - but I thought maybe it was worth double checking... The Go-Geared boards do not work under the Native Player, they always default to Flash. Unfortunately, I'm hooked on that board right now and it keeps coming up and I have to leave my opponents hanging. It's a bummer especially because the games are always head-to-head and could go so quickly on the go.
Is there a specific reason for this, or did the conversion somehow slip through the cracks?
Thanks! STJ
Your exactly right, there is a technical reason that the board can only be played in Flash. I can't remember what is was though, but Tom did that Intentionally.
Yep - I can't remember why, but I think it has to to with the way my color trickery works to make the stones disappear on the board when they are neutral.
or it was the image not loading completely...
The neutral image was showing as black in the native player instead of gray like it does in the flash player. This made it difficult to tell the difference between the Black player and the open spaces. I still used it on occasion just because at least then I could take my turns on mobile.
I think that the custom neutral image is messed up. Possibly got set to black somehow. Since the custom neutral image doesn't work on Flash, it still works properly on the Flash properly.
The same sort of setup works just fine on Seven for both Flash and Native: http://www.wargear.net/boards/view/Seven
It would really be nice if tom could fix it because the GG is perfect for iOS devices, but I'm pretty sure he's looked into it before and declared it unfixable - or not worth the work involved (I don't remember which), and I respect that he did the research and made the decision.
Thanks for the info - not a big deal in the scheme of things. I've looked into Go apps, anybody have an opinion on those?
