It's time to vote for the latest themed map making contest. The theme was "Under the Sea". We had three contestants:
Treasure Hunt
Diatoms
Reef
The rules for the contest can be found on the main page for all wargear mapmaking contests
You must have played all three maps at least once to vote. Playing more than one game on each map is highly encouraged!
Vote by ranking the maps in any manner. You don't have to rank all the boards (i.e. if you just had a top 3, that is ok too) - ties are ok. Mapmaking contestants can vote, and can vote for their own board, but must vote all 5 positions if they vote. Full details at the rules link above.
Please start some maps on these boards, and copy this into the comments:

The winner will be getting and extra 100 bucks from me.
I haven't played Treasure Hunt, will do that asap and come back here. What's the deadline to vote?
1. Treasure Hunt -- I really like the simplicity and elegance of the design on this. A small fun game, and classic Yertle.
2. Diatoms -- Conversely, a well-designed big board. I quite enjoyed my first several games on this board, and would play it again in the future. I place it second because I tend to enjoy small boards more than big boards in general, but it is very nicely designed and a good, intuitive use of factories and fog.
3. Reef -- While I like this board, I find it extremely frustrating to play, especially if I go late in turn order or have bad early luck against the neutrals. I think it's just a little too hard to come back if you fall behind early, due to the border mods on all the resource tiles. That said, plenty of players seem to really like it and I do love the graphic design quite a bit (and the risk/reward dynamic with the sharks and suns is a nice touch).
1. Reef - Gorgeous map. Creative use of collectors bonus. Clever, fun, playable.
2. Diatoms - This is a personal taste issue. It's a really great map that's just not my taste. I don't love the big board abandon format, but I enjoyed the game.
3. Treasure Hunt - I think the pink fog is confusing, and the capital structure felt irrelevant to the gameplay. The game was won before they came into play.
Not sure if voting has been cut off for this yet or not, but:
1. Reef - I like how the balance between negative in hand bonuses and positive factory bonuses impact end game play.
2. Diatoms - Much improved with the territory win conditions. Much less grind now. I enjoy the vision borders.
3. Treasure Hunt - Nice graphics and a good idea for slowing down capital elimination.
1. Reef
2. Diatoms
3. Treasure hunt
Finally totaled up the votes. Great job everyone. Very nice maps all around.

Sorry it took me so long to calculate these votes. I also noticed that new maps are still not showing up on the board grid. Without this, I cannot tell what maps were released in the other time periods to have votes on them. I'll post an official support thread and see if Tom has time to look at it.
Well done Korrun! Love Reef, great map.
Thanks on keeping up with this Ozy
