I noticed yesterday ago I was ranked 15th in the board championship, only one spot away from being Lieutenant General, and only one point behind 14th. So I thought to myself I should look for a board where I have good chances of adding a point or two.
Now I see I got two extra points somewhere from someone else losing a game. Happened while I was offline, so never got the announcement screen. Bummer.
Have to say, though, I find it odd that Lieutenant General is a higher rank than Major General since Major is a higher rank than Lieutenant.

Yeah, I figured it was army ranks. We have the same ones in Norway. Just never understood why. Would have sounded more logical to my ears if having major something was always better than lieutenant something (or always worse).

Agree with you Litotes - just goes to show, even going way back to the beginnings of organized armys, these were the brightest bulbs on the planet.

Don't quote me, but I understand this is the reason:
General = top dog
"Lieutenant" General = General's backup/second-in-charge, in case General needs a substitute.
Major is above Lieutenant in regular ranks, yes.
But "Major General" is really just a shortened name for "Sergeant-Major General".
Sergeant-Major General really means "the Sergeant for the Major General".
So it's not that that person is a major general, it's that they are the sergeant FOR the Major general.
But the Lieutenant General is that general's second in charge, hence LG is higher rank than MG.
