That games been fixed up now.
Possibly interesting perspective on this.
Mongrel invited me to a private 1v1 on Spy vs Spy. Before I joined the game, he had the 'black on black' look. Even the new chat thing where your name is highlighted in your color - black on black.

I think that's how that board is supposed to go since you don't get to pick colors. black -v- white
Yes probably.
If that's the case and this is wholly unrelated (very possible), that just points out a different, minor error worth fixing associated with the name-in-chat-highlighted-in-player-color not working either with a black color or before a game with assigned colors begins.
That's fixed thanks asm. There was a bug relating to the coloring in pre-game chat for games where the player color is chosen after the game start.

Don't know if it matters or not but the host for all 3 games is Amidon37.
On a bunch of different boards, too. I can't figure out what he's doing, no matter what I try I can't duplicate that.
And just like Toaster, I know I haven't touched board colors or updated anything at all on New World Gear.
I'm convinced by now it's something he's doing when he creates games. But like I said, I tried every wacky thing I could think of and couldn't get mine to do it, so unless he comes in here and describes to us step by step and click by click what he does when he sets up a game, this may just be an unresolved unreplicatable bug for a while.

Same here...unless it's somehow an IE 6 thing :P
It's got to be a browser issue - for some reason the player color selection isn't been picked up.
I'll add a check into the create game page.
I've updated the code to check for empty color fields - this should prevent the problem happening in future. Also fixed those games.
I really hate that the title of this thread is what it is. It's a pain to click on.
I've been thinking that too. Plus half the time I'd forget what it was about.
Yup, so let's keep bumping this thread to force Cramchakle to click on the link as many times as possible. ;-)
Did somebody fix Amidon's colors in those games Step linked, or did that happen naturally?
I will be talking to Amidon37 tomorrow and can ask what it is he is doing and report back so that you can try to recreate the problem.

I agree. I may be the one posting the most to this thread, but at least I can honestly say I didn't start it! :)
I talked to Amidon37 today and found out that he is using Crome and is selecting the color purple when he is starting games. He said that sometimes the radio buttons for speed and public/private are not changable (every though they appear to be) so he has to restart chrome. These games have been started at work and at home (both with crome).
Hope this helps, although I know a work around for this problem has been implemented so it may be moot at this point.
Thanks Alpha. I'll install Chrome and see if I can reproduce.
