There seems to be a lot of international folks joining WG. Maybe that's our angle. It would be nice to run board descriptions through an online translator, or have a translator right in the message box, if this is legal. New members could pick a language preference in the sign-up screen.

No but seriously that's a damn good idea.
Problem is those online translation engines are patchy at best. Usually ends up with a bunch of loosely connected gibberish. Although I agree internationalization needs to happen at some point.
You could start with a non-English forum section if you can find someone (or several someones) fluent in, say, French, Chinese, Spanish, etc. to moderate it. That might be the easiest place to start.

That's a good idea. There's already plenty of people who could be put in charge of the Canadian section.
