Knight's Tour (link?) would prolly work without a rename if you can work a reference to Battle Chess into the description ;)

Don't know when I'll have time to work on it again. I started a new job and am in the process of moving. I liked both the two move diced version and the one move no dice version.
can i put my hockey board in there?
i don't think it is as good as it could be, and it might inspire me to make it better.
Well, there were lots of hockey video games, so I think with some tweaking it would be fine for the theme, but the rules state that the board has to be released during the contest period. I don't think a update to an existing board would count.
Would WarCraft 2 count? That could be a fun one.
WarCraft 2 would definitely count. IMO, any video/arcade game that left a strong impression on you is close enough to being a 'classic'.
put aside the Kong one again. i just don't have any good new ideas.
think instead, i'm doing an Aliens themed one now.
your thoughts?

I like big maps. I don't mind scrolling if it means a rich, expansive world to battle in. This, on the other hand, just seems big for the sake of it. In its current form, I don't think you'd lose anything by shrinking it down. I know you acknowledge its bigness in your notes, but my point stands.
I don't think I would mind bigness (and the scrolling that goes with it) if gameplay tended to be "regional" and you didn't have to do a lot of back to attack/fortify, etc..
This board has the potential (with its 3 regions) to satisfy that requirement.
