I'm pretty new on this site, joined it last December, but I am pretty addicted to it already. I grew up playing risk and thought I was pretty good at it till I met y'all on this site. Still, I'm loving the different boards, learning new strategies, and playing with actual people.
Currently, I'm 40 years old, married, and have a 9-year old son, and I'm glad to read there's all ages of players here. I work as a community organizer, and grew up in Revolutionary Nicaragua, so playing for world domination feels sometimes schizophrenic for me, but then I get back to just enjoying the games :)
I love playing soccer, running, reading, hiking, dancing, hanging out with family and friends, and currently live in North Carolina. Hasta pronto,
Ron
Hey man - sounds like you came to the right place!
The 40ish age bracket is well represented here. We did have a age thread going at one time.
@Chele
Its a solid community, and yes, some of these guys are waaaaay to good.
@Amidon37
I think you were younger when that thread happened...
Wow. That was fun to re-read that. Thanks.
I'll have been playing here for 5 years at the end of next month. Craziness.
Those were fun threads to read, thanks for the welcome, @Amidon37 & @ratsy

Hard to believe it's been 5 years. I can't believe ToS is still around. When I left I thought it'd be tits up in 6 months.
Please let's not talk about that. This is a thread only for positive things.
Just, joined, hello everybody!

welcome TF - I notice you've started/joined a few lightning games with more than 2 or 3 players. Likely they will not fill and if they do they could take many hours to play. I would recommend playing some 1 or 2 day per/move games to get a feel for the site. And maybe a lightning game or two with only 2 or 3 players max.

Thank you very much for the advice! Will do so!
Taborfan... Is that a colorado name?
Hey y'all, I just joined after playing Risk on my Xbox One, and I decided playing on a computer would be much more fun. (shout out to Yahoo Answers) I go by Django because I love the bounty hunter and Tarantino.
Welcome!
Fair warning: lots of these guys are (much) better than the PS AI.
Good luck!
And some are less friendly -
I've joined so I can ridicule my friends when they lose I on the other hand I am terrible at this game. Don't judge me I'll be the most superior loser in all the land
Superior losers are always welcome here.
Hello, I graduated this past December from CU Boulder with a BS in civil engineering. I currently work as a third party inspector for construction sites doing QA and QC. There is a whole lot for me to learn and grow which keeps work exciting for me.
I am also really involved in serving in my church and helping with our campus based ministry. Some favorite hobbies of mine are jiu-jitsu, paintball, disc golf and going on an occasional hike. My friends know me for being one of the biggest extroverts in the room and I consider myself to be a loyal companion to my close knit circle.

Oh nice! Yep great school, city and state.
Greetings mortals..... just joined, played Risk too many decades to admit, betting there is much to learn here. Might drag another geezer here to suffer with me.
